Sodium Nitroprusside falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Black Seed interacts with.

Theoretically, taking black seed with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical research suggests that black seed powder and oil might reduce blood pressure by 2-3 mmHg. In animal research, black seed modestly reduces blood pressure and concomitant use of black seed and amlodipine (Norvasc) or metoprolol (Lopressor) increased the blood pressure lowering effects of these drugs.

Here's the thing about sodium nitroprusside: it isn't a pill you take at home. It's a powerful IV medicine given in a hospital or ICU to bring down dangerously high blood pressure, and the dose is carefully adjusted minute by minute while your blood pressure is closely watched. Black seed, on its own, may lower blood pressure just a little (studies suggest only about 2 to 3 mmHg).

In theory, adding black seed could nudge your pressure down a bit further, raising the chance of too-low blood pressure (dizziness, lightheadedness, a faster heartbeat). In practice, the care team is already titrating this drug closely, so the risk is small. Still, tell your nurse, doctor, or pharmacist about any black seed supplement so nothing catches them off guard.
