Adalimumab falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Boswellia Serrata interacts with.

Theoretically, Boswellia serrata might alter the effects of immunosuppressive drugs.
Some in vitro research suggests that Boswellia serrata extracts might inhibit mediators of autoimmune disorders such as leukotrienes and reduce production of antibodies and cell-mediated immunity. However, other in vitro research suggests that, when coupled with calcium ions, boswellic acids containing the keto group have immunostimulant properties within specific cell signaling pathways.

Here's the honest picture for Humira (adalimumab). Adalimumab is an injectable antibody that calms an overactive immune system to ease autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease. Boswellia, on the other hand, seems to nudge the immune system too, but the data are mixed. Some lab studies hint it dials inflammation down (which could add to Humira's effect), while others suggest certain boswellic acids might actually stimulate parts of the immune system (which could work against it).

The key thing to know is that this is theoretical and based only on test-tube and animal research, not real patients. We don't have evidence it causes problems with Humira specifically. Still, since both touch your immune system, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

Some studies suggest it may help with osteoarthritis symptoms, but the overall evidence is limited and more research is needed. What Is Adalimumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Humira

Adalimumab injection treats a range of moderate-to-severe inflammatory conditions in adults and some children. These include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, plaque psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa (a chronic skin condition), and non-infectious uveitis (inflammation inside the eye). It is also approved to treat polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis in patients as young as 2 years old, and Crohn's disease in children 6 years and older.

Yuflyma is additionally approved for non-infectious uveitis in pediatric patients 2 years and older, and for hidradenitis suppurativa in patients 12 years and older. Not every brand or formulation is approved for every condition listed — your prescriber will match the right product to your specific diagnosis.
