Doxorubicin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Boswellia Serrata interacts with.

Theoretically, Boswellia serrata might increase or decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Other in vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes at most concentrations, although it may modestly induce enzyme activity at low concentrations.

Here's the honest picture: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help process doxorubicin, and boswellia may slow that enzyme down in lab studies. In theory, if doxorubicin is cleared a little more slowly, more could build up, which might add to its usual side effects like nausea, mouth sores, low blood counts, hair loss, or heart strain.

I want to be clear, though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not on real patients. Still, doxorubicin is powerful chemotherapy, so I wouldn't take chances. Please don't start or stop boswellia on your own. Run it by your oncology team or pharmacist first, since they manage these treatments closely.

Doxorubicin is used to treat a wide range of cancers. It is given as part of combination chemotherapy for women with breast cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes after surgery, and it is used for many other cancers — from blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma to solid tumors like bone and soft tissue sarcomas.

It is considered a broad-spectrum cancer fighter, meaning it is active against many different tumor types. It is almost always given alongside other chemotherapy drugs rather than on its own.
