Nilutamide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES — the group Boswellia Serrata interacts with.

Theoretically, Boswellia serrata might increase the levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP2C19 enzymes.

Here's the situation with nilutamide (Nilandron) and Boswellia. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2C19 to help process nilutamide. Lab studies suggest the boswellic acids in Boswellia can slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happens, nilutamide could clear more slowly and build up in your system, which in theory might make its side effects more noticeable, things like nausea, hot flashes, trouble seeing in dim light or adjusting to bright light, and feeling tired.

I want to be straight with you though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not on real patients. So it's a heads-up, not a reason to panic. Since nilutamide is an important prostate cancer medicine, just run the Boswellia by your oncologist or pharmacist before adding it.

What Is Nilutamide Used For?

Brand names: Nilandron, Anandron

Nilutamide tablets are used together with surgical castration (removal of the testicles) to treat metastatic prostate cancer — prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (Stage D2). It is not used alone; it works as part of this combined treatment approach.

For the best results, treatment with nilutamide should begin on the same day as surgical castration, or the day after.
