Amoxicillin Veterinary falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Buchu interacts with.

Buchu contains pulegone, a known hepatotoxin. There is some concern that buchu may adversely affect the liver, especially when the leaf is used in large doses or the oil is ingested. Theoretically, concomitant use with hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of liver damage. Here's the gist: buchu leaves contain a compound called pulegone that can be hard on the liver, especially in concentrated supplement doses or if the essential oil is swallowed. Amoxicillin, even the veterinary version (Biomox), is on rare occasions linked to liver irritation too. So the worry is simply about two things that can each stress the liver being used together.

To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not proven harm. Watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. A pinch of buchu in tea is unlikely to matter much, but please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before pairing concentrated buchu with this antibiotic.
