Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the concern with pairing ashwagandha and amoxicillin. This isn't about one changing how the other works in your blood. It's simpler than that: both can, in rare cases, be hard on the liver. Amoxicillin (especially over longer courses) is occasionally linked to liver irritation, and ashwagandha has been tied to some serious liver problems in case reports. Stacking two things that can stress the liver may add up.

To be fair, this is a theoretical caution based on how these substances behave, not proof it will happen to you. Still, watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
