Ashwagandha + Desvenlafaxine
Desvenlafaxine brand names: Pristiq, Khedezla.
Ashwagandha has a minor interaction with Desvenlafaxine. Some animal studies have reported that ashwagandha can enhance serotonergic transmission by altering certain serotonin (5-HT) receptors.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
Serotonergic Drugs
Why this applies to Desvenlafaxine
Desvenlafaxine falls under Serotonergic Drugs — the group Ashwagandha interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: your Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) already boosts serotonin in the brain, which is exactly how it lifts mood. Ashwagandha may gently nudge serotonin pathways too, at least based on animal research. In theory, stacking the two could add up and slightly raise the chance of serotonin-related effects.
That said, I want to keep this in perspective. This is a minor, mostly theoretical concern. There are no real-world reports of serotonin syndrome from this combo. Just be aware of warning signs like agitation, shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, or feeling unusually restless. If those show up, or before you start ashwagandha, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first.
