Buchu may have antiplatelet effects. Theoretically, buchu may enhance the effects of anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs and increase the risk of bleeding in some patients. Here's the basic idea: cangrelor (Kengreal) is a strong IV antiplatelet medicine given in the hospital, usually during heart procedures like stenting, to keep platelets from clumping and forming clots. Buchu is thought to have its own mild platelet-slowing effects. Stack the two together and, in theory, you could tip the balance toward easier bleeding or bruising.

I'll be honest with you though, this concern rests on weak, anecdotal evidence, not solid studies. Realistically, cangrelor is only used in a closely watched hospital setting, so your care team is already monitoring you for bleeding. Still, it's worth telling them about any supplements like buchu. Never start or stop anything on your own, just loop in your doctor or pharmacist first.
