Here's the gist for your combo pill of hydrochlorothiazide and labetalol. Carob is rich in fiber and tannins, and in lab and animal studies that bulk has been shown to grab onto certain things in the gut and slow their absorption. The concern here is purely theoretical for your medication, so it isn't something I'd lose sleep over.

If carob did blunt absorption a little, the worry would be a slightly weaker blood pressure effect, meaning your readings might not drop quite as much. To keep things simple and avoid any timing overlap, take your pill first and enjoy carob about 30 to 60 minutes later. Casual food amounts are far less of a concern than concentrated supplement doses. Any questions, just ask your pharmacist.
