Here's the simple version: Insulin Lispro already does one main job, which is to bring your blood sugar down. Ceylon cinnamon may nudge blood sugar in the same direction. So if you take a concentrated cinnamon supplement on top of your insulin, the two could add up and push your sugar lower than you intend. That raises the chance of a low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) episode, with signs like shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

Honestly though, this is mostly theoretical, based on lab and animal work, not strong human proof. The sprinkle of cinnamon on your oatmeal is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated capsules are the bigger question. Don't change your insulin on your own. If you want to try a cinnamon supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your numbers.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
