Cissus Quadrangularis + Digoxin
Digoxin brand names: Lanoxicaps, Lanoxin, Digitek.
We found no known interaction between Cissus Quadrangularis and Digoxin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Cissus Quadrangularis and Digoxin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Digoxin and Cissus Quadrangularis in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Digoxin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Digoxin is filed under 5 classifications — including glucuronidated drugs, p-glycoprotein substrates, oral drugs. Cissus Quadrangularis has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Digoxin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Digoxin page
“Digoxin is a heart medicine with a narrow therapeutic index, meaning the gap between a helpful blood level and a harmful one is small, and few drugs give me more pause when supplements enter the picture. The most serious entries here are herbs that themselves contain digoxin-like cardiac glycosides, foxglove and lily-of-the-valley amon…”

About Cissus Quadrangularis
What is Cissus Quadrangularis?
- Bone fracture healing
- Joint pain and bone health
- Weight management
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive complaints
Cissus quadrangularis is a traditional vine used mainly for bone health, joint pain, and weight management. Most of the supporting evidence comes from animal studies and a small number of human trials, so its benefits are not firmly proven. It appears reasonably well tolerated in the short term, but people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing chronic conditions should talk to a doctor or pharmacist first.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Cissus Quadrangularis is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Cissus Quadrangularis record says about it on its own.
Cissus Quadrangularis: dosing
There is no official, standardized dose for Cissus quadrangularis. Products differ widely in their strength and how they are prepared, which makes a single recommended dose hard to give. The best approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed the suggested amount. A pharmacist or doctor can help you decide whether a product and dose make sense for you, especially if you take other medicines or have health conditions.

About Digoxin
What Is Digoxin Used For?
Brand names: Lanoxicaps, Lanoxin, Digitek
Digoxin tablets, oral solution, and injections (including Lanoxin brand) are all approved to treat mild to moderate heart failure in adults — improving symptoms like exercise tolerance and reducing hospitalizations, though it does not extend life. It is also approved to control the resting ventricular rate (how fast the lower chambers beat) in adults with chronic atrial fibrillation. The oral solution specifically notes it should not be used for multifocal atrial tachycardia.
In children with heart failure, digoxin is used to strengthen the heart's contractions (increase myocardial contractility). Digoxin is best used alongside a diuretic (water pill) and an ACE inhibitor when possible.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Digoxin
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (0 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Digoxin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Digoxin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Cissus Quadrangularis — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
