ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Aspart
Insulin Aspart falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Clove interacts with.
Clinical and laboratory research suggest that polyphenol extracts from clove flower buds might lower blood glucose levels. Dosing adjustments for insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents may be necessary when taken with clove. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind: insulin aspart already does the heavy lifting of pushing your blood sugar down. Some lab and early research hints that concentrated clove extracts may also nudge blood sugar a bit lower on their own. Stack those two together and, in theory, your sugar could dip further than you expect, which we call hypoglycemia.
That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion. I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how clove behaves, not strong human proof. The clove you sprinkle on food almost certainly won't matter. Concentrated clove oil or supplement capsules are where I'd be more cautious. If you want to try them, check your sugars more often and chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Aspart page
“Every one of the 239 supplements listed for insulin aspart (Fiasp) touches the same thing the drug exists to manage, blood sugar, so this list warrants genuine care rather than a quick skim. Most entries add to insulin's glucose-lowering effect, raising the risk of hypoglycemia, and with a rapid-acting mealtime insulin a low can become…”

About Clove
What is Clove?
- Toothache and oral pain
- Digestive upset
- Antimicrobial and antifungal
- Cough and respiratory complaints
- Flavoring in food and drinks
Clove is a common cooking spice that is also used in traditional medicine, especially as a topical numbing agent for tooth pain thanks to its main compound, eugenol. Food amounts are generally safe, but concentrated clove oil and supplements can be irritating or toxic if overused, and human evidence for most health claims is limited. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using clove medicinally, especially in children or during pregnancy.
About Insulin Aspart (rDNA Origin) Injection
What Is Insulin Aspart (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?
Brand name: Fiasp
Insulin aspart is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in people with diabetes mellitus. It is approved for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults, and for diabetes mellitus in pediatric patients.
Insulin Aspart Protamine and Insulin Aspart Mix 70/30 is a pre-mixed product that combines a rapid-acting and an intermediate-acting insulin aspart. It is approved to improve blood sugar control in adult patients with diabetes mellitus. It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis, and because its ratio of rapid-acting to intermediate-acting insulin is fixed, it does not allow for separate mealtime versus background dose adjustments.
