Here's the simple version: Horizant (gabapentin enacarbil) already tends to make people feel drowsy, dizzy, or a bit unsteady on their feet. Coriander, in animal studies, has shown mild calming or sedative effects. So the concern is that putting the two together could add up and leave you feeling sleepier or foggier than usual.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This is mostly theoretical, based on animal research, not solid human studies. The pinch of cilantro or coriander you'd use in cooking is very unlikely to cause any trouble. Concentrated extracts or essential oils are a different story and harder to predict. If you take Horizant and want to use coriander supplements, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, especially before driving until you know how you feel.

About Gabapentin

What Is Gabapentin Used For?

Brand name: Horizant

Gabapentin (brands include Neurontin, Relgaabi, Gabarone, Gralise, and Horizant) is primarily used to manage postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) — the nerve pain that lingers after a shingles outbreak — in adults. Neurontin, Relgaabi, Gabarone, and gabapentin capsules, tablets, and oral solution are also used as add-on therapy for partial onset seizures (a type of epilepsy) in adults and children aged 3 and older.

Horizant (gabapentin enacarbil extended-release tablet) has two specific approvals: treatment of moderate-to-severe primary restless legs syndrome (RLS) in adults, and management of postherpetic neuralgia in adults. Horizant is not recommended for people who need to sleep during the day and stay awake at night. Gralise is approved only for postherpetic neuralgia and cannot be substituted for other gabapentin products due to its different release profile.
