Coriander + Rivaroxaban
Rivaroxaban brand name: Xarelto.
We found no known interaction between Coriander and Rivaroxaban in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Coriander and Rivaroxaban
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Rivaroxaban and Coriander in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Rivaroxaban
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Rivaroxaban is filed under 5 classifications — including anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs, p-glycoprotein substrates, cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates. Coriander has documented interactions with 4 drug classes — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate), antihypertensive drugs (moderate) and cns depressants (moderate) — and none of Rivaroxaban’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

Questions About Coriander or Rivaroxaban
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Coriander or Rivaroxaban, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:
- Can You Use Cyperus Rotundus (Nut Grass) Oil With Xarelto? ›
- Can You Take Cod Liver Oil With Rivaroxaban (Xarelto)? ›
- Can You Take NAC With Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)? ›
Not quite your question? Ask our pharmacists directly — it is free, there is no account required, and answers usually come back within 24 hours.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Rivaroxaban
This page covers Coriander only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Rivaroxaban page lists 285 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Danshen (major), Grapefruit (major), Piracetam (major) and St. John's Wort (major).
By severity: 5 major · 240 moderate · 40 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rivaroxaban page
“Grapefruit is the interaction I would flag first for anyone taking rivaroxaban (Xarelto). It slows how the body clears this blood thinner, and higher levels mean more bleeding risk.”

- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Coriander reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 27, 2026. The Coriander and Rivaroxaban records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Coriander
What is Coriander?
- Digestive upset and gas
- Appetite stimulation
- Mild antimicrobial (topical)
- Diarrhea and IBS symptoms
- General flavoring and traditional remedy
Coriander (also called cilantro) is a common cooking herb and spice that has long been used in traditional medicine for digestive complaints. As a food it is generally safe for most people, but high-quality human studies supporting its medicinal benefits are limited. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts or essential oils.
Coriandrum sativum · Apiaceae · Seeds (fruit), leaves, and essential oil · Culinary spice and herb, tea, capsules, tincture/extract, essential oil
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Coriander is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Coriander record says about it on its own.
Coriander: dosing
There is no standardized or proven medicinal dose of coriander. Amounts used in studies and traditional remedies vary widely depending on the form (tea, seeds, capsule, or oil).If you choose to use a coriander supplement, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount. Essential oils are very concentrated and should not be taken by mouth without professional guidance.

About Rivaroxaban
What Is Rivaroxaban Used For?
Brand name: Xarelto
Rivaroxaban helps prevent and treat harmful blood clots. Across products, adults use it to lower stroke risk in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and lower the chance those clots come back.
Rivaroxaban tablets are also used to prevent DVT after hip or knee replacement surgery and to prevent venous thromboembolism (VTE) in acutely ill medical patients. With aspirin, they reduce major cardiovascular events in coronary artery disease (CAD) and major thrombotic vascular events in peripheral artery disease (PAD). Children use it too: rivaroxaban for oral suspension (and Xarelto and Rivaroxaban tablets) is for VTE treatment and recurrence prevention from birth to under 18 years, and for clot prevention in children 2 and older with congenital heart disease after the Fontan procedure.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Rivaroxaban
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (206,938 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
