Nusinersen Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Diosmin interacts with.

Theoretically, diosmin may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
A case of spontaneous intraventricular hemorrhage has been reported for a 77-year-old female after 6 weeks of warfarin therapy, despite an international normalized ratio (INR) of only 1.8. The patient had also been taking aspirin and diosmin for several years. Experts speculate that chronic intake of diosmin predisposed the patient to spontaneous intraventricular hemorrhage by inducing chronic microcirculatory hypertension and inhibiting platelet aggregation. The presence of aspirin was also thought to play a role in this event.

Spinraza isn't an anticoagulant or antiplatelet drug. It's an antisense oligonucleotide given by spinal injection to boost a protein your muscles and nerves need, so the way it works doesn't overlap with how diosmin might affect platelets or vein walls.

One spot worth mentioning: Spinraza is delivered into the spinal fluid, so the medical team often checks bleeding-related labs around the procedure. If you take diosmin, it's smart to tell your care team, since they may want a clear picture before that injection. The bleeding link to diosmin itself is weak and based on a single case report, so don't be alarmed, just be upfront with your pharmacist or doctor.

Spinraza (nusinersen) is used to treat spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) — a genetic disease that causes progressive muscle weakness by reducing the body's ability to make a protein called SMN (survival motor neuron). Spinraza is approved for pediatric and adult patients with SMA.

Spinraza is given by intrathecal injection — directly into the fluid surrounding the spinal cord — so the medicine can reach the central nervous system where it's needed most.
