Here's the thing to keep in mind: insulin already does the heavy lifting of lowering your blood sugar. Some early lab research hints that elderflower might nudge blood sugar down a little too. If both work in the same direction, the worry is that your levels could dip too low (hypoglycemia), which can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest that this is mostly theoretical, based on test-tube and animal studies, not solid human proof, and a cup of traditional elderflower tea is unlikely to throw things off much. Still, if you start using concentrated elderflower extracts, check your blood sugar a bit more closely and let your doctor or pharmacist know so they can keep an eye on your numbers with you.
