Diclofenac Sodium, Misoprostol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Eleuthero interacts with.

Theoretically, eleuthero might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro and animal research suggest that standardized extracts of eleuthero might inhibit CYP2C9. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Arthrotec combines diclofenac (an anti-inflammatory painkiller) with misoprostol (which protects your stomach). The diclofenac part is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Lab and animal studies hint that eleuthero might slow that enzyme down, which could let diclofenac build up a bit higher than usual. In theory, that could mean more of the typical NSAID side effects, like stomach upset, heartburn, fluid retention, raised blood pressure, or a higher risk of stomach irritation or bleeding.

The important part: this has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never in people, so the real-world risk is uncertain and likely small. Still, if you take Arthrotec regularly, it is worth mentioning eleuthero to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

Theoretically, eleuthero may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research shows that a constituent of eleuthero, dihydroxybenzoic acid, appears to inhibit platelet aggregation. Concomitant use with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Arthrotec, which pairs the NSAID diclofenac with misoprostol. Diclofenac on its own can thin the blood a little and irritate the stomach lining, which is actually why misoprostol is added (to help protect against ulcers). Eleuthero may have a mild blood-thinning effect of its own, so the worry is that stacking the two could nudge up your bleeding risk. Think easier bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding showing up as dark or bloody stools.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical, based only on lab and animal studies, and hasn't actually been seen in people. So it's a 'be aware,' not a 'panic.' Still, if you take Arthrotec regularly, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding eleuthero.
