Let me start with the big one: European mandrake is genuinely toxic and we never recommend taking it. The tropane alkaloids in it (atropine and similar) can slow down your gut. On paper, that slowed digestion means a pill like sulfinpyrazone could sit in your system longer and be absorbed a bit more fully, which could nudge its blood levels up.

This is a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals work, not something well documented in real patients. Still, more sulfinpyrazone could mean a higher chance of stomach upset, nausea, or, rarely, effects on your kidneys or blood counts. The real risk here is the mandrake itself. Please don't take it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor if you have questions.
