Evodia has demonstrated dose-dependent activity as a proarrhythmic agent in animal and in vitro studies. Evodia infusion in animals extends the action duration potential and induces prolongation of the QT interval and Torsade de pointes.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pair. Paliperidone (Invega) can stretch out the QT interval, which is a measure of your heart's electrical timing. Evodia has shown in lab and animal studies that it can do the same thing. Stack those two together and, at least in theory, you could push that timing further and raise the risk of an irregular, sometimes dangerous heart rhythm.

I want to be honest about the strength of this. The Evodia evidence here comes from test tube and animal work, not from people, so this is a cautious flag rather than a proven danger. Even so, since heart rhythm is involved, I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you have any heart history.

What Is Paliperidone Used For?

Brand name: Invega

Paliperidone treats schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. The extended-release tablets (Invega and generic paliperidone) are approved for schizophrenia in adults and adolescents ages 12–17, and for schizoaffective disorder in adults.

Several injectable formulations are also available, each with specific roles. Invega Sustenna and Erzofri extended-release are once-monthly injections approved for schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder in adults. Invega Trinza is a once-every-3-month injection for schizophrenia in adults who have already been stabilized on a once-monthly paliperidone palmitate injection for at least four months. Invega Hafyera is a once-every-6-month injection for schizophrenia in adults already stabilized on a once-monthly or every-3-month paliperidone palmitate injection.
