Evodia + Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone brand names: Cortef, Hydrocortone, Carmol HC cream, Hydrocortisone Iodoquinol Cream, Vytone Cream, and others.
Evodia has a moderate interaction with Hydrocortisone. Theoretically, evodia might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Evodia interacts with.
In vitro research shows that evodia extract inhibits hepatic CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear oral hydrocortisone (like Cortef). In lab and animal studies, evodia appears to slow that enzyme down. If that same effect happened in people, hydrocortisone could linger longer and build up, which means a stronger steroid effect than you bargained for. With higher steroid exposure over time you might notice things like fluid retention and swelling, raised blood sugar, mood or sleep changes, easier bruising, or stomach upset.
Here's the reassuring part: this is theoretical and only seen in test tubes, never confirmed in humans. So I wouldn't panic, but I also wouldn't ignore it. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two, especially if you take hydrocortisone daily.
