Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril
Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group False Unicorn interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Your Lotrel combines two blood pressure medicines, and the amlodipine half is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In a lab dish, False Unicorn appeared to slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let amlodipine build up a bit more than usual. If that happened, you might notice things like swollen ankles, dizziness, flushing, headache, or blood pressure dropping lower than expected.
The key word here is theory. This concern comes only from test-tube data, not from real people, so we honestly don't know if it matters in everyday life. Still, since you're managing blood pressure, I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor first rather than guessing.

“Grapefruit sits high on the worry list for anyone taking Lotrel (amlodipine besylate and benazepril), a two-in-one blood pressure pill.
