Here's the idea behind this one. Alemtuzumab (Campath) works by calming or reshaping part of your immune system, while fermented milk products like yogurt or kefir contain live probiotics that may gently stimulate immune activity. On paper, those two pull in opposite directions, so the worry is that fermented milk could slightly blunt the medicine's intended effect.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not proven harm in patients on Campath. There's another reason to be thoughtful here. Alemtuzumab lowers your defenses against infection, and live-culture foods carry small amounts of bacteria, so anyone with a weakened immune system should run this by their oncologist or pharmacist before adding probiotic products.

What Is Alemtuzumab Injection (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) Used For?

Brand name: Campath

Alemtuzumab (brand name Lemtrada) is approved for adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) — including relapsing-remitting MS and active secondary progressive MS. Because it carries serious risks, it is generally reserved for people who have already tried at least two other MS medications without adequate results.

It is not recommended for people with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), a first episode of MS-like symptoms, due to its risk profile.
