ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin (Pork)
Insulin (Pork) falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Garden Cress interacts with.
Evidence from animal research suggests that an extract of garden cress can reduce blood glucose levels. This has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: pork insulin already does the work of lowering your blood sugar. Garden cress, at least in animal studies, also seems to nudge blood sugar down a bit. Stack the two together and there's a theoretical chance your sugar could dip lower than you'd expect, which is what we call hypoglycemia.
That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. Keep in mind the evidence here is weak, based on lab and animal work, not people, and a normal kitchen serving of cress in a salad is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated seed supplements are the bigger question mark. If you want to use those regularly, check your numbers more closely and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

About Garden Cress
What is Garden Cress?
- Digestive support
- Bone health
- Iron and vitamin source
- Cough and respiratory comfort
- Boosting breast milk (traditional)
- Constipation relief
Garden cress is a nutritious leafy herb and seed used widely in cooking and traditional medicine, providing vitamins, minerals, and fiber. While it has a long history of use for digestion, bone health, and lactation, strong human research supporting most medicinal claims is limited. It is generally safe as a food, but concentrated seed supplements should be used cautiously and avoided in pregnancy.
