Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Diphenhydramine, Phenylpropanolamine
Aspirin, Diphenhydramine, Phenylpropanolamine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group German Chamomile interacts with.
German chamomile has mild sedative effects. Theoretically, concomitant use with drugs with sedative properties can cause additive effects and side effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combo product already contains diphenhydramine, the same antihistamine found in many nighttime sleep aids. It's known for making people drowsy and a little foggy. Chamomile tea has its own mild calming, sleepy quality, so the concern here is simple: stacking the two could leave you more sedated than you expected. Think extra grogginess, heavier eyelids, slowed thinking, or feeling drowsy the next morning.
Honestly, this is a theoretical caution based mostly on lab work, not strong human studies, so a cup of chamomile tea probably won't knock you out. Still, since this product is meant for nighttime use anyway, go easy, avoid driving until you know how you feel, and check with your pharmacist or doctor if you have questions.

About German Chamomile
What is German Chamomile?
- Anxiety and stress
- Sleep and relaxation
- Digestive upset
- Skin irritation and inflammation
- Mouth sores and gum irritation
German chamomile is a widely used herbal remedy taken mainly as a tea for calming, sleep, and digestive complaints. Early research suggests possible benefits for mild anxiety and some skin or digestive issues, but the evidence is limited and most uses are based on tradition rather than strong proof. It is generally well tolerated, but people allergic to ragweed or related plants and those who are pregnant should be cautious.
