IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Azamune
Azamune falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Glyconutrients interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Azamune (azathioprine) is a medicine that purposely turns down your immune system, which is exactly what you need after a transplant or with certain autoimmune conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Here's the concern: some lab research hints that glyconutrients may gently rev up parts of the immune system. In theory, that could work against what Azamune is trying to do, possibly making it a little less effective.
Just to be clear, this is theoretical. It comes from test-tube studies, not real people, so we don't have proof it actually causes problems. Still, because Azamune controls something as important as transplant rejection or a flaring autoimmune disease, I'd play it safe. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding glyconutrients, rather than starting them on your own.

About Glyconutrients
What is Glyconutrients?
- General immune support
- Overall wellness and energy
- Cognitive or memory support
- Inflammation
- Digestive health
Glyconutrients are supplements containing certain sugar molecules (monosaccharides) that marketers claim are essential for cell communication and health. The science behind most health claims is weak and largely promotional, and your body already makes these sugars from a normal diet. They are generally low-risk, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using them, and don't rely on them to treat any disease.

Azamune Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Azamune as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Glyconutrients — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
