There are at least four case reports of hepatotoxicity associated with the use of gotu kola. However, more information is needed to determine if gotu kola was the causative factor in these cases.

Here's the simple version: both Gotu Kola and Adagrasib (Krazati) can potentially be tough on your liver. Adagrasib, which is a targeted cancer medicine for certain lung tumors, is already known to sometimes raise liver enzymes and cause liver irritation. The worry here isn't about how the two are broken down. It's that stacking two things that can each stress the liver might add up and make liver problems more likely.

Honestly, the evidence on Gotu Kola is thin. There are only a handful of case reports, and we can't even be sure the herb was the real cause. Still, since your cancer team is already watching your liver closely with this drug, I'd hold off on Gotu Kola and run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

About Adagrasib

What Is Adagrasib Used For?

Brand name: Krazati

Krazati (adagrasib) is used to treat adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that carries a specific genetic change called a KRAS G12C mutation. It is used as a single agent for NSCLC after at least one prior treatment, and patients must be confirmed to have this mutation by an FDA-approved test.

Krazati is also used in combination with another drug called cetuximab to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated locally advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) who have already been treated with specific prior chemotherapy regimens. Both uses were approved under the FDA's accelerated approval program based on tumor response data, and continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.
