Here's the gist for Clorazepate (Tranxene): this is a benzodiazepine that calms the brain, partly by working through GABA receptors. Some lab research hints that gotu kola may also nudge those same GABA receptors in a calming direction. So in theory, pairing the two could stack their sedating effects on top of each other.

If that happens, you might feel more drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet than usual. I want to be honest, though: this concern comes from test-tube studies, not real people, so it's theoretical and on the milder side. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you already feel sleepy on your dose. Don't change anything on your own.

What Is Clorazepate Used For?

Brand names: Tranxene, Tranxene T-Tab, Tranxene SD

Clorazepate dipotassium tablets are used to manage anxiety disorders or to provide short-term relief of anxiety symptoms. They are also used as an add-on (adjunctive) therapy alongside other medications to help control partial seizures in adults and children aged 9 and older.

In addition, clorazepate dipotassium tablets are used for symptomatic relief during acute alcohol withdrawal — helping to ease the physical symptoms that can occur when someone suddenly stops drinking.
