Here's the gist for metoclopramide (Reglan): this medicine can already make some people feel drowsy or tired on its own. Gotu kola, at least in early lab studies, seems to have a calming effect by acting on GABA receptors in the brain (the same general system many sedatives touch). So in theory, pairing the two could leave you feeling sleepier or more sluggish than usual.

I want to be honest about the strength here. This is a theoretical concern based on lab work, not real-world reports of people running into trouble, so it's nothing to panic about. Still, if you notice extra drowsiness, slowed thinking, or feel unsteady, that's worth mentioning. Before combining them, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can look at your full picture.

About Metoclopramide

What Is Metoclopramide Used For?

Brand names: Reglan, Metoclopramide Injection, Octamide

Metoclopramide tablets are used in adults for two main conditions. First, they treat symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux (GERD — when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus) in people who haven't gotten relief from standard treatments. Second, they ease symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis, a condition where nerve damage from diabetes causes the stomach to empty too slowly.

Treatment is meant to be short-term. For acid reflux, it's used for 4 to 12 weeks. For diabetic gastroparesis, it's generally used for 2 to 8 weeks. It is not recommended for children due to serious safety concerns.
