Here's the basic idea with gotu kola and aripiprazole (Abilify). Aripiprazole isn't a prodrug, so we're not worried about your body activating it differently. The real concern is overlapping calm. Aripiprazole can already make some people feel drowsy or mentally foggy, and lab research hints that gotu kola may have a mild calming effect by nudging GABA receptors in the brain. Stack the two and you could feel sleepier or more sluggish than usual.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is theoretical, based on lab studies rather than real patients, so it may not happen at all. Still, go easy with activities like driving until you know how you feel, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
