Celiprolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that aqueous and ethanolic extracts of guarumo leaf can lower blood pressure when administered intravenously to rats. Theoretically, concomitant use of antihypertensive drugs with guarumo might enhance therapeutic effects and increase the risk of hypotension. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDIURIL), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Celiprolol is a beta-blocker that you take to bring blood pressure down. Guarumo, the leaf tea used in Latin American medicine, may have its own mild blood-pressure-lowering effect. So if you pair the two, the worry is simply that they push in the same direction and your pressure could drop a little too low.

If that happened, you might notice things like dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when you stand up quickly), unusual tiredness, or a slower heartbeat. I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based only on animal studies, so we don't have strong human proof. Still, please give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before combining them, and let them know if you feel faint or worn out.
