Theoretically, guggul might reduce the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Pediazole combines erythromycin with sulfisoxazole, an antibiotic pair used to treat infections like ear infections in kids. The erythromycin part is partly processed by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab and animal studies hint that guggul may speed that enzyme up, which could, in theory, clear erythromycin from your body a little faster and make the antibiotic slightly less effective at fighting the infection.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based only on test-tube and animal research, so we don't really know how much it matters in real people. Still, when you're treating an active infection, you want the antibiotic working at full strength. If you're using guggul, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before starting this medicine so they can guide you.
