Relugolix falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hu Zhang interacts with.

Theoretically, hu zhang might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Hu zhang contains the constituent resveratrol. In vitro research shows that resveratrol might inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, a clinical study in adults with NAFLD found that adding resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks did not necessitate dose adjustments to any established medications metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the thinking on combining Hu Zhang with relugolix (Orgovyx). Your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help process relugolix. Hu Zhang contains resveratrol, which in lab studies might slow that enzyme down a bit. If it did, relugolix could build up in your system, which in theory could mean more side effects like hot flashes, fatigue, joint aches, or diarrhea.

I'd keep this in perspective, though. This concern comes from test-tube data only, and a human study using a high resveratrol dose did not force any medication changes. So it's mostly theoretical. Since relugolix is an important cancer treatment, please don't start or stop anything on your own. Just run the Hu Zhang past your oncologist or pharmacist first.
