Interaction Details
Codeine Phosphate is classified as belonging to the following category: Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
Each serving of HumanN SuperBeets includes 150mg of grape seed extract (2 chews). Laboratory studies suggest that grape seed extract might have inhibitory effects on the CYP2D6 metabolizing enzyme. If this enzyme is inhibited, drugs metabolized by it may undergo slower metabolism, potentially leading to (in many cases) higher-than-normal drug levels. Elevated drug levels can increase the risk of experiencing side effects. However, it's crucial to highlight that, as of now, there is no documented or reported instance of this specific interaction occurring in human studies.
Interaction Rating
Likelihood of Occurrence
UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
Pharmacist Analysis
It is unlikely that grape seed extracts have a clinically significant interaction with drugs that are metabolized by CYP2D6. This effect has only been seen in lab studies and has not been seen in human ones.
Nevertheless, it may be worthwhile to know if the drug you are taking (such as the one in this interaction detail page) is metabolized by CYP2D6 and monitor yourself accordingly.

Humann Superbeets Heart Chews Overview

Codeine Phosphate Overview
-
Codeine is used to relieve mild to moderate pain. It is also used, usually in combination with other medications, to reduce coughing. Codeine will help relieve symptoms but will not treat the cause of symptoms or speed recovery. Codeine belongs to a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) analgesics and to a class of medications called antitussives. When codeine is used to treat pain, it works by changing the way the brain and nervous system respond to pain. When codeine is used to reduce coughing, it works by decreasing the activity in the part of the brain that causes coughing.
-
Codeine is also available in combination with acetaminophen (Capital and Codeine, Tylenol with Codeine), aspirin, carisoprodol, and promethazine and as an ingredient in many cough and cold medications. This monograph only includes information about the use of codeine. If you are taking a codeine combination product, be sure to read information about all the ingredients in the product you are taking and ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
