Here's the simple version. Cevimeline works by directly turning up activity at certain nerve receptors (it's a cholinergic agonist), which is what gets your salivary glands flowing again. Huperzine A comes at the same target from a different angle: it slows the breakdown of acetylcholine, so more of that signaling chemical hangs around. Stack the two together and you're essentially pushing on the same pedal twice.

That means the typical Cevimeline effects could get stronger than expected. Think extra sweating, watery eyes, more saliva than you want, nausea, stomach cramping, or a slower heart rate. To be fair, this is a theoretical concern more than a proven one, and supplement-strength Huperzine A varies a lot. Before combining them, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.
