Amitriptyline, Chlordiazepoxide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Indian Long Pepper interacts with.

Theoretically, Indian long pepper might increase the effects and adverse effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that piperine, a constituent of Indian long pepper, inhibits CYP3A4.

Limbitrol combines amitriptyline (an antidepressant) with chlordiazepoxide (a benzodiazepine for anxiety). Both are partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The piperine in Indian long pepper can slow that enzyme down, at least in lab studies. In theory, that could let these medicines build up a bit in your blood.

If levels climbed, you might notice more of their usual effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, or feeling unusually groggy. That said, this warning comes only from test-tube research, not from real people, so the actual risk is uncertain. A pinch in cooking is unlikely to matter much. If you take long pepper supplements regularly, just let your pharmacist or doctor know before mixing them.
