Insulin Glargine (rDNA) falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Indian Long Pepper interacts with.

Here's the gist: Lantus (insulin glargine) already lowers your blood sugar, and Indian long pepper may nudge it down a little further. The piperine in this spice has lowered blood glucose in animal studies, so stacking it on top of your insulin could, in theory, make your sugar drop too low.

I want to be honest about the evidence though, this is theoretical and based mostly on animal research, not solid human trials. A sprinkle of pepper on your food almost certainly won't matter. A daily concentrated supplement is more worth watching. If you start one, check your blood sugar more often and look out for shakiness, sweating, or dizziness. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, and don't change your insulin dose on your own.

What Is Insulin Glargine (rDNA origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Lantus

Insulin glargine is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, and in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is a long-acting insulin that works around the clock to help keep blood sugar levels stable.

Insulin glargine is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication where the blood becomes acidic due to very high blood sugar).
