Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Codeine Phosphate, Magnesium Hydroxide
Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Codeine Phosphate, Magnesium Hydroxide falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Japanese Persimmon interacts with.
Some anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, indomethacin (Indocin), ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of this combo product that matters here is the aspirin, which is a blood thinner (it makes platelets less sticky). Lab studies suggest that compounds in Japanese persimmon leaf may also have a mild blood-thinning action, so in theory, stacking the two could add up and make you bruise or bleed a little more easily, show nosebleeds, or take longer to stop bleeding from a cut.
I want to be honest about the evidence though: this has only been seen in test-tube studies, not in real people, so it's a theoretical concern. Simply eating persimmon fruit is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated leaf extracts or persimmon supplements are where I'd be more cautious. Before adding any persimmon product, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
