Here's the simple version. Gliclazide already does one main job well: it nudges your pancreas to release more insulin, which lowers your blood sugar. Juniper, at least in animal studies, also seems to push blood sugar downward. Stack the two and the worry is that they could add up and drop your sugar too low.

I want to be honest about how strong this concern is. It's theoretical, based mostly on lab and animal research, not solid human studies. So I wouldn't panic. Still, if you take juniper as a concentrated supplement, just keep an eye out for low-sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion. The bit of juniper in food or a sip of gin is unlikely to matter. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
