Here's a wrinkle worth knowing about. Glucagon isn't a typical diabetes pill that lowers your sugar. It does the opposite. It tells your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood, and it's used as a rescue treatment when your blood sugar drops dangerously low. So juniper and Glucagon actually pull in different directions.

The concern on file is that juniper berry might nudge blood sugar down a little, based only on animal studies and theory, not solid human research. In theory, that mild sugar-lowering effect could work against Glucagon when you're trying to bring a low back up. In a real emergency, this is unlikely to be the deciding factor, but if you take concentrated juniper supplements, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor.
