Here's the basic idea with juniper and your insulin. Insulin already lowers your blood sugar, and some animal studies suggest juniper berry may nudge blood sugar down too. Put the two together and you could, in theory, get a bigger drop than you bargained for. That's what we call additive hypoglycemia.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is based on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a red alert. If you do use juniper supplements regularly, watch for low blood sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion, and check your levels a bit more often. Gin-style culinary amounts are unlikely to matter. Always loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
