These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Khella interacts with whole categories of medication. Diclofenac Sodium, Misoprostol falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Khella in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Diclofenac Sodium, Misoprostol
Diclofenac Sodium, Misoprostol falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Khella interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both khella and Arthrotec (the diclofenac and misoprostol combo) can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Diclofenac, the anti-inflammatory part of this medicine, is already known to cause sun sensitivity in some people. Add khella, which contains compounds (khellin and visnagin) that do the same thing, and you may sunburn faster or break out in a rash with less sun exposure than usual.
I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is mostly theoretical and based on anecdotal reports, not strong studies, so it's not a reason to panic. If you do use both, just be smart in the sun by wearing sunscreen, a hat, and covering up. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
2 of 2Diclofenac Sodium, Misoprostol also falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Arthrotec is a combo pill of diclofenac (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) plus misoprostol (added to protect your stomach). The thing to watch here is your liver. Diclofenac on its own can occasionally raise liver enzymes, and khella has also been reported to nudge those same liver markers upward. Put them together and you may get a little extra strain on the liver.
To be fair, this is a mostly theoretical concern, not something proven to harm people taking both. Still, watch for signs like unusual tiredness, nausea, belly pain on the right side, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and they may keep an eye on your liver bloodwork.

About Khella
What is Khella?

- Angina and heart-related chest pain
- Kidney stones
- Vitiligo and psoriasis
- Mild high blood pressure
Khella is a Mediterranean herb whose seeds contain compounds like khellin that may relax smooth muscle in the airways and blood vessels.
