Sotorasib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Khella interacts with.

Theoretically, khella might have additive adverse effects on the liver when used with hepatotoxic drugs. Khella can increase liver transaminases. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing khella and sotorasib (Lumakras). This isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other. Instead, it's about adding stress to the same organ. Sotorasib is already known to raise liver enzymes and can cause real liver injury, which is why your oncology team checks bloodwork regularly while you're on it. Khella, on its own, can also push those liver transaminase numbers up.

Put them together and you may get an additive strain on the liver, which could show up as higher liver enzymes, fatigue, belly pain on the upper right side, or yellowing of the eyes or skin. This is largely theoretical, but with a cancer drug this important, I wouldn't add khella without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

About Sotorasib

What Is Sotorasib Used For?

Brand name: Lumakras

Lumakras is used to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have already received at least one prior cancer treatment. This use was approved under the FDA's accelerated approval pathway based on tumor response rates, and continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.

Lumakras is also used in combination with panitumumab to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) who have previously received certain chemotherapy regimens. In both cases, patients must first be confirmed to carry the KRAS G12C mutation using an FDA-approved test.
