ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro-Aabc
Insulin Lispro-Aabc falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Krill Oil interacts with.
Some research in animals and humans shows that krill oil might lower blood glucose levels. However, a small study shows that taking krill oil does not reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Lyumjev (insulin lispro-aabc) already lowers your blood sugar, and krill oil might give a small nudge in the same direction. Some research in animals and people hints that krill oil can lower blood glucose a little, so stacking it on top of your mealtime insulin could, in theory, push your sugar down more than expected. That raises the chance of a low, with symptoms like shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling dizzy.
That said, the evidence is shaky. One small study in people with type 2 diabetes found krill oil didn't really change blood sugar at all. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, just keep checking your sugars as usual. If you want to add krill oil, let your pharmacist or doctor know so they can watch for any pattern of lows.

About Krill Oil
What is Krill Oil?
- Heart and cholesterol support
- High triglycerides
- Joint pain and inflammation
- Brain and eye health
- PMS symptoms
- General omega-3 supplementation
Krill oil is a source of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) bound to phospholipids, which may help absorption. It is most studied for lowering triglycerides and supporting heart health, but the evidence for many other uses is limited. It is generally well tolerated, but people with shellfish allergy should avoid it, and anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, or on blood thinners should check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
