ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro-Aabc
Insulin Lispro-Aabc falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Agmatine interacts with.
Animal and in vitro research suggest that agmatine has mild hypoglycemic effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Lyumjev (insulin lispro-aabc) is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that lowers your blood sugar. Here's the thing to keep in mind with agmatine: lab and animal studies hint that it might have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. If that holds true in people, stacking it on top of your insulin could nudge your sugar a little lower than expected, raising the chance of a low (hypoglycemia).
To be clear, this is theoretical and based on early research, not strong human studies, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you decide to use agmatine, it's smart to watch for signs of a low like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion, and check your sugar a bit more often. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
