Why this applies to Tigecycline
Tigecycline falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Lacticaseibacillus Paracasei interacts with.
L. paracasei preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. paracasei preparations by at least two hours.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep in mind: this interaction runs in the opposite direction from what people usually worry about. Tigecycline won't be harmed by your probiotic. Instead, the antibiotic can wipe out the live L. paracasei bacteria you're trying to take, since tigecycline kills a broad range of bugs and can't tell the friendly ones from the harmful ones.
So the probiotic may simply not work as well while you're getting tigecycline. The good news is this is theoretical, based on how these two work, and it's easy to manage. A common suggestion is to separate the two by at least a couple of hours. Since tigecycline is given as an IV in a hospital or clinic setting, just mention your probiotic to your nurse, pharmacist, or doctor so they can help you time it.

Lacticaseibacillus paracasei (formerly Lactobacillus paracasei) is a probiotic bacterium found in fermented foods and supplements that is widely used to support gut and immune health. What Is Tigecycline Injection Used For?
Brand name: Tygacil
Tygacil (tigecycline for injection) is approved for adults 18 and older to treat three types of serious bacterial infections: complicated skin and skin structure infections, complicated intra-abdominal (stomach and intestinal) infections, and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (pneumonia caught outside a hospital).
It is not approved for diabetic foot infections or for pneumonia caught in a hospital setting, including ventilator-associated pneumonia — clinical trials showed it did not work well enough for those uses and was associated with higher mortality in patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia.
