Imipenem, Cilastatin falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Latilactobacillus Sakei interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Latilactobacillus sakei with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. sakei.
Latilactobacillus sakei preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. sakei preparations by at least two hours.

Here's the simple version: Primaxin (imipenem/cilastatin) is a powerful antibiotic, and antibiotics don't know the difference between bad germs and the friendly bacteria in a probiotic. Latilactobacillus sakei is made of live organisms, so taking it at the same time as this antibiotic can kill off many of those probiotic bacteria before they get a chance to do anything. In other words, the antibiotic likely makes the probiotic less effective, not the other way around. Your Primaxin will still work fine for fighting infection.

This is a theoretical concern based on how the two work, not strong clinical proof. If you want to take both, a common tip is to space them out by at least two hours. Since Primaxin is given in a hospital by IV, just check with your pharmacist or doctor about timing.
