Metformin, Rosiglitazone falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Maqui interacts with.

Theoretically, maqui fruit extract may increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research shows that maqui berry reduces fasting blood glucose. However, maqui berry extract taken orally, either as a single dose or daily for 3 months, does not decrease fasting blood glucose in prediabetic patients. It is unknown whether it might reduce blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.

Here's the simple version: Avandamet combines two diabetes medicines, metformin and rosiglitazone, both of which work to lower your blood sugar. Maqui berry, in concentrated supplement form, might nudge blood sugar down a little too. Stack the two together and there's a theoretical chance your sugar could dip lower than you want, leading to things like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. It's thin. Animal studies hinted at lower blood sugar, but a human trial in prediabetic folks showed maqui did not drop fasting glucose. Eating the berry as food almost certainly won't matter. If you're considering a daily maqui supplement, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up and keep an eye on your readings.
