ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine
Aspirin, Caffeine falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Marjoram interacts with.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Anacin, which pairs aspirin with caffeine. The aspirin part already makes your platelets less sticky, which is how it helps with pain and reduces clotting. In lab dish studies, marjoram extract seemed to do something similar, nudging platelets to clump together less. So in theory, stacking concentrated marjoram on top of aspirin could add up and raise your bleeding risk a little.
To be fair, this is theoretical and only comes from test tube and animal work, not real people. Sprinkling marjoram on your food is very unlikely to matter. Higher supplement doses or marjoram oil are where I'd be more cautious. Watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them regularly.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aspirin, Caffeine page
“Anacin combines aspirin with caffeine, so supplements can hit it from two directions, and a few of the 347 on this list deserve real respect. The biggest group, over 200 ingredients, can raise bleeding risk on top of aspirin's blood-thinning effect; beer and wine carry major ratings because alcohol plus an aspirin-type drug makes stoma…”

About Marjoram
What is Marjoram?
- Digestive upset
- Sleep and relaxation
- Respiratory complaints (cough, congestion)
- Menstrual discomfort
- Aromatherapy for stress
Marjoram is a Mediterranean kitchen herb related to oregano that is widely used in food and traditional medicine for digestive, sleep, and respiratory complaints. It is generally considered safe as a food, but concentrated supplements and essential oils should be used with caution and avoided in pregnancy.
