Marjoram + Triamcinolone
Triamcinolone brand names: Aristocort, Kenacort, Adcortyl Intra-articular / Intradermal, Kenalog Intra-articular / Intramuscular, Adcortyl in Orabase, and others.
We found no known interaction between Marjoram and Triamcinolone in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Marjoram and Triamcinolone
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Triamcinolone and Marjoram in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.
Marjoram safety at a glance
Pregnancy & breastfeeding ratings are from Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center) — the full detail is in the Special populations card below. Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Triamcinolone
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Triamcinolone is filed under 5 classifications — including corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, topical drugs. Marjoram has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being anticholinergic drugs (moderate), anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate) and cholinergic drugs (moderate) — and none of Triamcinolone’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Marjoram Does Interact With Other Medications
Marjoram has 338 moderate known drug interactions in our database — Triamcinolone isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

What Triamcinolone Is Prescribed For, and What Marjoram Has Been Studied For
These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Triamcinolone is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Marjoram is a supplement: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.
Triamcinolone is prescribed for: Triamcinolone is available in many forms — injections, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, dental pastes, and eye injections — each approved for specific uses. Injectable forms given into muscle are used when oral steroids aren't an option, covering severe allergies (like asthma flares, severe skin reactions, drug reactions, and serum sickness), serious skin diseases, certain endocrine (hormonal) disorders, and more. Injections given directly into a joint (intra-articular) or soft tissue help with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, gout flares, bursitis, and tendon inflammation. Injections into skin lesions (intralesional) treat conditions such as keloids, alopecia areata, and psoriatic plaques.

Triesence (an ophthalmic injection) is specifically indicated for eye conditions like uveitis and temporal arteritis, and for visualization during eye surgery. Topical creams, ointments, lotions, and sprays relieve itching and inflammation from corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions. Dental paste forms (Oralone, Kourzeq) treat painful mouth sores from injury. Nasal sprays temporarily relieve hay fever and upper respiratory allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and congestion.

Marjoram for asthma
Preliminary clinical research in adults shows that taking marjoram oil 2 drops daily for 3 months along with conventional treatment for asthma improves some measures of lung function. Forced vital capacity (FVC) increased by 0.3 mL with marjoram compared to 0.1 mL in the control group. The forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) increased by 4.1% with marjoram compared to 2.7% with control.

Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Triamcinolone on your own; if you are taking Marjoram for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Triamcinolone
This page covers Marjoram only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Triamcinolone page lists 124 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Lily-of-the-valley (major), St. John's Wort (major), Active Hexose Correlated Compound (ahcc) (moderate) and Alder Buckthorn (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 102 moderate · 19 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Triamcinolone page
“Triamcinolone, the steroid in Kenalog injections, Aristocort, and several creams and dental pastes, earns real caution with supplements, and the three major-rated pairings are the ones to understand first. St.”

About Marjoram
What is Marjoram?
- Digestive upset
- Sleep and relaxation
- Respiratory complaints (cough, congestion)
- Menstrual discomfort
- Aromatherapy for stress
Marjoram is a Mediterranean kitchen herb related to oregano that is widely used in food and traditional medicine for digestive, sleep, and respiratory complaints. Most of its health claims rest on traditional use and small lab or animal studies rather than strong human trials. It is generally considered safe as a food, but concentrated supplements and essential oils should be used with caution and avoided in pregnancy.
Origanum majorana · Lamiaceae · Leaves, flowering tops, and essential oil · Culinary herb, tea, capsules, tincture, essential oil (for aromatherapy)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Marjoram is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Marjoram record says about it on its own.

Natural Medicines records Triamcinolone as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Marjoram — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
