Vimovo combines naproxen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) with esomeprazole (a stomach acid blocker that helps protect against ulcers). The piece that matters here is the naproxen. Like other NSAIDs, it can make your blood platelets a little less sticky and can irritate the stomach lining, so it already carries some bleeding risk on its own.

The concern with onion is purely theoretical, based on lab studies where onion compounds slowed platelet clumping. In real life, eating onion in your food almost certainly won't cause a problem. Concentrated onion supplements are the bigger unknown. If you notice easy bruising, nosebleeds, dark stools, or stomach pain, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
